Hello Again!

After a long, cold winter, it looks like spring might be on its way at last. In some parts of the country, it is not too late to frost seed pastures. This technique adds valuable legume forage to your pasture. The freezing and thawing cycle of late winter and early spring opens up the soil and allows seeds to germinate.

Frost seeding, also known as overseeding, is an easy and cost effective way to add legume forage to your pastures. Read about frost seeding horse pastures here.

Tip Of The Day:

Now is the time to make note of all the spongy, mushy, soggy parts of your pasture, fields and trails. Snap a few pictures of the worst offenders so you'll remember where you need to improve or fill when the areas dry out.

Happy riding!
